At the reception, reporting to the President of the National Assembly, President of the Latin American Parliamentary Union, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Cuban National Assembly Gonzalez expressed his honor to have the time of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to receive him; respectfully conveyed the greetings of the Cuban high-ranking leaders to the Vietnamese high-ranking leaders, as well as the warm greetings and deep feelings of the Cuban people to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the Vietnamese people.

The President of the Latin American Inter-Parliamentary Union and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Cuban National Assembly affirmed that he highly values ​​the values ​​of the special traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cuba, respects and admires the fighting spirit and self-reliance of the Vietnamese people in the fight for national independence and reunification as well as in rising to affirm their role and international position today; and stated that for the Cuban people, "Vietnam is a hero in the past and present", and will never forget the close-knit friendship and solidarity between the people of the two countries.

The President of the Latin American Parliamentary Union and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Cuban National Assembly proposed that the two countries' National Assemblies continue to closely coordinate and support each other at multilateral forums; affirmed their readiness to play a bridging role to help strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the Latin American Parliamentary Union (PARLATINO) and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) in general and the Vietnamese National Assembly in particular, as well as between the Vietnamese National Assembly and members of the Latin American Parliamentary Union.

At the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man conveyed his warm regards to General Raul Castro, First Secretary, President Miguel Diaz Canel, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz and National Assembly Chairman Esteban Lazo, along with leaders of the Cuban Party, State and National Assembly; affirmed that high-ranking leaders of Vietnam and the National Assembly Chairman personally always wish to welcome leaders of the Cuban Party, State and National Assembly to visit Vietnam; and informed that ministries, branches and functional agencies of Vietnam are actively promoting the implementation of cooperation agreements signed between the two countries during the State visit to Cuba by General Secretary To Lam.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that the Party, State and People of Vietnam always remember and respectfully thank the Party, State and People of Cuba for supporting Vietnam in the struggle for national independence and reunification; affirmed that Vietnam highly values ​​and is determined to further deepen the special traditional solidarity and friendship between the two countries; and emphasized that Vietnam always stands side by side, accompanies and supports the just revolutionary cause of the Cuban people.

Agreeing with the proposals of the President of the Latin American Inter-Parliamentary Union and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Cuban National Assembly, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that he will continue to support the consolidation and deepening of relations between the two countries through all Party, State and National Assembly channels, actively coordinate to prepare well for the visit of the President of the Cuban National Assembly to Vietnam in 2025 and co-chair the 2nd Conference of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee between Vietnam and Cuba.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man also asked the President of the Latin American Inter-Parliamentary Union to support promoting cooperation between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the parliaments of Latin American countries, contributing to opening up new cooperation prospects, realizing opportunities, and exploiting potentials in relations with countries in the Latin American region.
