Despite harsh nature and extreme weather, the forests in the south of Ha Tinh are still green. Among them are the images of the enthusiastic work of forestry officers, forest rangers and forest-loving people in Ky Anh district. They work day and night silently to dig the land, break hills, grow seedlings, protect trees to develop forests, green bare hills, enrich resources, diversify ecosystems and develop forestry economy.

From the staff of the Ky Anh District Forest Protection Department, the Southern Ha Tinh Forest Protection Management Board to the forest planters in the communes of Ky Son, Lam Hop, Ky Thuong, Ky Lac, Ky Khang, Ky Xuan... all focus on enriching oxygen for life. All together take care of forest development, improve the efficiency of forestry land use... to build sustainable forest development models in the direction of restructuring the forestry sector and the new rural development program.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Luu - Head of Ky Anh District Forest Protection Department excitedly said: "Last year, the entire force focused on propagating and mobilizing people to effectively and properly use the allocated areas and focused on directing, inspecting and supervising the implementation of sustainable forest management plans by forest owners, effectively implementing forestry policies.

Thanks to that, the whole district has planted 3,550 hectares of forests of all kinds, more than 350,000 scattered trees, planted 10.4 hectares of coastal protection forests, had an additional 1,663 hectares of production forests granted FSC certification, and built some infrastructure to serve forestry production...”.

Along with Ky Anh district, localities with many advantages in forestry land such as Cam Xuyen, Thach Ha, Huong Khe, Huong Son, Vu Quang... also focus on the goal of both improving ecology, protecting the environment, enriching resources and improving livelihoods and income for people working in the forest.

With high determination, great responsibility, and good absorption of policies to encourage forestry development, the whole province has planted 9,070 hectares of concentrated forests, nearly 3 million scattered trees, and nearly 551 hectares of protected forests for regeneration. Thanks to forest development activities associated with care, protection, and exploitation, the output of raw wood exploitation has reached over 583,120 m3, with an economic value of hundreds of billions of VND.

Huong Khe forests are greener in spring thanks to the tireless footsteps of soldiers on the forest protection front.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Hao - Head of the Forest Protection Department of Huong Khe district excitedly said: "In harsh climate conditions, rugged terrain, forests are always at risk of being encroached upon..., we always take action with the highest determination to fulfill our sacred mission. To manage and protect nearly 100,172 hectares of forest and forestry land, the force has carried out nearly 300 patrols and many activities to control the area, handle incidents, and protect forests at the root. Thereby, promptly detecting, preventing, and correcting 65 violations of the Forestry Law, promptly responding to 2 forest fires and preventing the situation of clearing and encroaching on forest land in sub-areas 144, 200, 227, 236B, 265...".

For the sake of the homeland's green forests, units under the Ha Tinh Forest Protection Department have focused on directing drastic and synchronous solutions to effectively protect forests at the root, especially in districts with large areas and potential complications. District forest protection departments have also proactively coordinated with local authorities and functional agencies to take drastic action and thoroughly handle acts of encroachment on forests and wild animals.

In 2023, the whole province detected and handled 201 cases of forestry law violations, confiscating nearly 72 m3 of wood. At the same time, the force also coordinated to arrest 56 individuals/14 kg of wild animals and conducted hundreds of raids to dismantle and destroy 116,391 natural bird trapping tools, release 986 decoy birds; received and mobilized 114 organizations and individuals to hand over 367 wild animals for rescue and re-release into the wild...

The forest is also greener thanks to the effective fire prevention and fighting work carried out by the specialized forest protection force, forest owners, local authorities and other forces according to the motto "4 on-site", taking the principle of "prevention as the main". During the hot season, the forests are guarded 24/7 with full plans, human resources, equipment... ready for any situation, at any time.

In particular, the whole province has renovated and repaired 193 km of firebreaks, 21 fire watchtowers, 249 wall signs, treated 3,421 hectares of vegetation, purchased 633 blowers, 135 chainsaws and many other means and tools... so it promptly prevented 27 fire outbreaks, and quickly extinguished 11 forest fires...

In 2023, Ha Tinh Forest Protection Department was classified as having excellently completed its tasks, dozens of collectives and hundreds of individuals were commended by all levels and sectors.
