Officially ending the operation of Quang Binh Department of Foreign Affairs

(NLDO) - Quang Binh province decided to end the operation of the Department of Foreign Affairs; establish the Provincial Media Center on the basis of merging Quang Binh Newspaper and the Provincial Radio and Television Station.

On January 20, the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee announced that it had just issued a conclusion on a number of contents to continue implementing the arrangement and streamlining of the political system of this province.

Previously, on December 26, 2024, the Standing Committee of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee issued a conclusion on the implementation of the arrangement and streamlining of the provincial political system. According to this conclusion, the total number of specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee is currently 14, including the Department of Foreign Affairs.

However, according to the recent dispatch of the Ministry of Home Affairs on the draft Decree of the Government, the number of provincial-level specialized agencies is regulated to not exceed 13. Therefore, to meet the regulations and ensure optimal organization, the Standing Committee of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee has agreed to terminate the operation of the Department of Foreign Affairs.

After officially ending its operations, the Department of Foreign Affairs will transfer all its apparatus, functions, tasks and resources (including public services and staff) to the Provincial People's Committee Office.

The Party Committee of the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee will lead and direct the development of specific projects and plans, including organizational structure, staffing, finance, and assets. This process must be completed before February 10, 2025.

Establishment of Quang Binh Provincial Media Center

In addition to ending the operation of the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Standing Committee of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee also agreed on the policy of researching and merging media units in the province to establish the Provincial Media Center.

According to the conclusion, the Quang Binh Provincial Media Center will be established by merging Quang Binh Newspaper and the Provincial Radio and Television Station. In addition, the functions and tasks of the Electronic Information Portal currently under the Official Gazette Center - Provincial People's Committee Office; the Provincial Party Committee Electronic Information Portal under the Provincial Party Committee Office and the Electronic Information Page of the National Assembly Delegation and Provincial People's Council will be transferred to the Provincial Media Center.

The Research Steering Group will advise on the development of a project to establish the Media Center, clearly defining its functions, tasks, organizational structure and working relationships. At the same time, the Group will also advise on the establishment of the Media Center Party Committee. It is expected that the center will be established before June 30, 2025.
