The 99km-long Dau Giay – Phan Thiet Expressway with a total investment of more than VND 12,500 billion is a section on the North – South Expressway in the East. The route starts at the Vinh Hao – Phan Thiet Expressway in Ham Thuan Nam District, Binh Thuan; the end point is at the intersection of the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway, Dong Nai Province. After being put into operation at the end of April 2023, the project will help cars from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet take more than 2 hours, instead of 4-5 hours as before.
Phan Thiet – Dau Giay Expressway, every day about 20,000 vehicles travel on the main route. Because there are no rest stops on the highway, people have difficulty and are stuck in solving their “sadness” and resting.
Due to the lack of rest stops on this section, many vehicles have to stop at the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway to rest and refuel, causing congestion.
Faced with this situation, the Ministry of Transport has approved the construction location of the rest stop on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay section at Km47+500, Tan Duc commune, Ham Tan district, Binh Thuan, bordering Dong Nai province.
Bidding to select investors to build 8 rest stops on the North-South Expressway The Ministry of Transport said that on May 20, it will open bids to select investors to build 8 rest stops on the North-South Expressway.
