Armed forces coordinate to help people repair dike breaches caused by natural disasters

The meeting was held online at Hue City to 40 communes and wards in the city.

At the meeting, member units of the Civil Defense Command noted the natural disaster situation; some results of natural disaster prevention, control and search and rescue work in 2025; communication work on forecasting and warning of natural disasters; reserve of materials, means, equipment, necessities; situation of water reservoirs; plans to ensure communication...

Member units and localities also proposed, recommended, and focused on removing current shortcomings and difficulties in natural disaster prevention and control work in 2025; and noted the developments of the tropical depression near the East Sea, which could strengthen into a storm in the next few days.

Directing at the working session, Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Hoang Hai Minh requested directors of departments, heads of agencies, organizations under the city, central agencies located in the area, Chairmen of People's Committees of communes and wards according to their assigned functions, tasks and authority to focus on directing, proactively inspecting, urging and organizing timely and effective implementation of natural disaster prevention, control and rescue work, not to be passive, surprised, and not to interrupt in the work of responding to natural disasters.

The Chairmen of the People's Committees of wards and communes are responsible to the Chairman of the City People's Committee for directing the work of natural disaster prevention, control, and search and rescue in the area according to the "four on-site" motto. Perfecting the organization and apparatus, clearly assigning responsibilities to organizations and individuals to be ready for operation, ensuring that the work of natural disaster prevention, control, and recovery, and search and rescue is operated smoothly, effectively and efficiently.

Urgently review response plans for each type of natural disaster that may occur in the area, especially plans and scenarios for responding to heavy rain, flooding, landslides, flash floods, storms, and reservoir operations; in the immediate future, plans to respond to tropical depressions that may strengthen into storms in the next few days.

Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Hoang Hai Minh requested agencies and localities to seriously implement and report the results to the Department of Agriculture and Environment (the agency in charge of advising the City Civil Defense Command on natural disaster prevention) before September 5, 2025.
