Police have just issued a warning about a new scam by impersonating banks to exchange reward points.
According to the police, with this method, the anonymous subjects will use the trick of sending fake Brandname SMS messages (ie brand messages) impersonating the bank. The content of the message is a notification, instructing customers to redeem reward points.

Then, the scammers send the victims a link with a domain name and a fake bank interface to trick customers into logging in and downloading a link containing malicious code.
As a result, customers will be tricked into logging in, revealing personal information, passwords and OTP authentication codes. Or when installing applications containing malicious code, victims will have control of their phones taken over.
From there, telecommunications fraudsters can easily steal money from victims' accounts.
Police agencies recommend that people do not click on strange links, attach messages, or install applications on websites.
People absolutely do not provide passwords or OTP authentication codes to anyone; do not follow instructions via phone calls.
Fraudulent impersonation tricks can impersonate any organization or individual: police, post office , electricity, bank... so people must always be highly vigilant, when suspecting fraud, they should report to the police for guidance and support.
