The total area of the monument grounds is currently 279 m2 . The items that need to be maintained and repaired include: for the foundation and pedestal of the monument, the renovation and completion of the floor and pedestal with the view of preserving the architectural shape and size of the main monument block, only maintaining and repairing the completed part to ensure the traditional, aesthetic, and sustainable features in harsh weather conditions, creating a spiritual relic site located in a special location that both honors and commemorates but is also a highlight, an open and airy space for the gateway of the town. The main part of the monument is to repair and restore old, peeling items, clean, and repaint...

In addition, renovate and upgrade garden landscape such as green tree system, internal drainage system, lighting system...

The Mai Quoc Ca Monument is a tribute to the 19 heroic martyrs of the Mai Quoc Ca Platoon who fought fiercely and heroically sacrificed their lives north of Thach Han Bridge during the Quang Tri liberation campaign in 1972.

This is a red address to educate the revolutionary tradition for today's young generation about the war of national defense of our nation. Due to the long construction time, the monument has now degraded and needs to be invested in repairing and upgrading to meet the expectations of cadres, soldiers, veterans, people of the town and tourists from all over.
