Hanoi schools "quickly" notify students to stay home on August 21

Tonight, August 20, schools in Hanoi "urgently" announced that students will be off school tomorrow.

According to the directive document just issued by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, schools and educational institutions in wards (formerly in the districts of Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, Dong Da, Hai Ba Trung, Cau Giay, Tay Ho, Nam Tu Liem, Bac Tu Liem, Hoang Mai, Thanh Xuan, Long Bien, Ha Dong) will allow students to take a day off on the days of practice, preliminary rehearsal, general rehearsal of the Anniversary Ceremony, military parade, and march.

So, tomorrow will be the first day off, August 21, so to promptly notify parents and students, schools have used many information channels such as Zalo, communication apps between families and schools.

According to Director of Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong, allowing students to stay home from school is to create favorable traffic conditions for training activities, preliminary rehearsals, and general rehearsals for military parades and marches.

For schools and educational institutions in other wards and communes, based on actual conditions, the school principal shall consider and decide on allowing students to take time off from school during the time of joint training, preliminary rehearsal, general rehearsal of the Anniversary Ceremony, military parade, and march.

Hanoi also directed schools in areas where parades and processions pass by to open their doors to serve people and tourists with places to stop, rest, and use personal hygiene... ensuring respect and hospitality.

According to the plan, the schedule for joint training, preliminary review, and general rehearsal of the parade and march is as follows:

Summary practice round 1: 20:00 August 21, 2025 (Thursday).

Second practice session: 20:00 on August 24, 2025 (Sunday).

Rehearsal program of the Anniversary Ceremony: 20:00 on August 27, 2025 (Wednesday).

Rehearsal program for the Anniversary Ceremony: 06:30 on August 30, 2025 (Saturday).
