These days, pilots and technicians at Bien Hoa military airport are practicing and working non-stop, even on weekends, to ensure the best quality of their performance flights.
It is expected that during the ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, the aircraft squadron will perform special flight formations, with the highlight being the heat trap drop by Su-30MK2 fighters. This is the first time a large number of fighter planes have performed a demonstration flight in the sky of Ho Chi Minh City, one of the impressive performances that has attracted the attention of many people.
In addition, the Air Defense - Air Force also mobilized Mi-8 and Mi-17 helicopters and Yak-130 training aircraft for this parade.
According to Captain Nguyen Van Lang, pilot of Regiment 916, Division 371, Air Defense - Air Force, flying over Ho Chi Minh City, where there are many high-rise buildings and complex space conditions, will require high concentration and careful preparation.

“We have carefully studied the flight path and safety plans and are ready to complete the mission with the highest precision. As a young pilot, I am honored to be entrusted with this important task,” Captain Nguyen Van Lang shared.
Born in 1975, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Vi Xuan Hung, Chief of Flight Safety of Regiment 927, Division 371, Air Defense - Air Force, expressed his honor and emotion when he was assigned to carry out this noble mission. “On this occasion, I will fly with my teammates over the land where my father and his teammates fought in the past, bringing me great emotions and pride. The entire unit is working hard to practice, ensuring beautiful and absolutely safe flights, contributing to creating a great and meaningful celebration.”

Previously, the Air Force had conducted many flight exercises, including important events such as the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 and the 80th Anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army. However, this performance has a special meaning, not only honoring the army's indomitable fighting spirit, but also affirming the strength and modern combat level of the Vietnam Air Force.
According to the plan, the parade on the morning of April 30 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day will include the firing of 21 cannons to the background of the Vietnamese National Anthem, the air force's salute, a parade of model cars with the National Emblem - the Party flag, the Fatherland flag - a car carrying the portrait of President Ho Chi Minh; a parade of the Army, the Police, the Militia and Self-Defense Forces, and a parade of the masses.
