BSR products are strictly tested before being released to the market.

BSR is the first and only enterprise in Vietnam (to date) to be granted both of these certificates at the same time.

The Certificate Numbers are ISCC-CORSIA-Cert-DE100-25074125 and EU-ISCC-Cert-DE100-52074125, issued by SGS Germany GmbH (headquartered in Germany) with the certified scope including blending, production, storage and trade of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The certificate is valid from March 31, 2025 to March 30, 2026.

Sharing about this event, BSR General Director Nguyen Viet Thang said that BSR being granted ISCC CORSIA and ISCC EU Certification not only proves Dung Quat Oil Refinery's compliance with international standards on renewable energy, energy transition, greenhouse gas emission reduction... but also opens up great opportunities for the Company's petrochemical refining products to the EU market, while ensuring that the enterprise meets regulations on greenhouse gas emission reduction.

ISCC (short for International sustainability and carbon certification) is a globally recognized sustainability certification system that covers all sustainable inputs, including agricultural and forestry biomass, waste and bio-waste, circular materials and renewable energy.

With over 13,000 valid certificates currently issued in over 130 countries, ISCC is one of the largest certification systems in the world.

ISCC's current certification programs include ISCC EU Certification, ISCC PLUS Certification and ISCC CORSIA Certification.

To receive ISCC Certification for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) products in the scope of blending, production, storage and trading, since the beginning of 2024, BSR has urgently and actively implemented related tasks, such as investing and converting equipment systems for blending, production, storage and trading of products; building a management system in accordance with ISCC international standards, including contents such as the commitment of the Board of Directors, promulgation of social policies, ISCC handbook, development of regulations/procedures on issuing sustainability statements, purchasing, selling ISCC products, inventory management, material balance calculation, identification, traceability, control of non-conforming products and handling of customer complaints, technical regulations, basic standards for products and production processes, and supply chains in compliance with ISCC criteria.

Throughout the implementation process, BSR has also worked closely with ISCC international experts, undergoing thorough assessments to ensure compliance. At the same time, the company maintains strict compliance with regulations on blending, production, storage, trading and environmental protection, to ensure that all petroleum products from Dung Quat Refinery meet the highest national and international quality standards.

Upon receiving ISCC CORSIA and ISCC EU Certification, BSR will enjoy many benefits, especially improved access to international markets, especially the EU market.

This certification qualifies BSR to export fuel and refined petrochemical products to the EU market, which has the most stringent regulations on renewable energy and carbon emissions. This ensures that products from Dung Quat Refinery are recognized in European countries and around the world.

In addition, the possession of ISCC CORSIA and ISCC EU certifications will open up many opportunities for BSR to attract investors and strategic partners. The certifications have demonstrated that BSR meets strict standards for green production, thereby facilitating the signing of contracts with customers with high requirements for sustainability and environmental responsibility.

BSR can better compete with other refineries in the region and around the world by meeting the requirements for renewable and low-emission fuels, while expanding business opportunities in the context of countries tightening regulations on clean energy.

Achieving ISCC CORSIA and ISCC EU Certification also allows BSR to meet ESG (environmental - social - governance) standards, an important factor for international investors, while improving its development strategy towards sustainability and environmental friendliness.

This is also an opportunity for BSR to take the lead in new policies on emission reduction in the oil and gas energy industry and is an important step to help BSR develop sustainably and integrate more deeply into the global energy supply chain.

In addition, BSR's achievement of this certification is an important step forward, contributing to affirming the position of Vietnamese enterprises in the international market; at the same time promoting double-digit economic growth and opening a new era full of potential for Vietnam's petrochemical industry.
