These days in the North, sometimes the sun is shining brightly, sometimes it rains suddenly. At the training ground of the National Military Training Center 4 (Hanoi), thousands of officers and soldiers are enthusiastically practicing to prepare for the parade to celebrate the national festival - 80 years of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.
The colorful uniforms of the parade blocks with their cheerful voices and laughter… added to the excitement of the training ground. In that atmosphere, “the Nghe accent cannot be lost”, we met Thuy Linh and Thanh Tam, soldiers of Workshop X265, Armament Department, General Department of Logistics and Technology.
In the unit, Thuy Linh is a Finance officer, and Thanh Tam is a Medical officer. When the unit informed them about the selection of soldiers to participate in the A80 parade, they did not hesitate and immediately registered.
Thuy Linh joined the female Information Soldiers. This was her first time participating in a parade mission, so at first, Thuy Linh was not used to the intensity. Training under the scorching hot weather, there were days when the temperature on the training ground reached 39-40 degrees Celsius, especially during rush hours, Linh was very tired. However, the young female soldier always clearly defined her mission, maintained her spirit, made efforts every day, and gradually got used to the high intensity of training.

Thuy Linh emotionally confided: The most “hard” thing is missing and missing the “summer vacation group”, the two children are still too young. I have a child who is almost 4 years old and a child who is starting first grade this year. Right before leaving, my husband and I asked the “retired group” to help take care of the children during the training period. I received a special mission, so my grandparents were very proud and encouraged me to carry out the mission with peace of mind, and let them take care of the children. This is the first time I have been away from my mother for a long time, but my children are very obedient and listen to their grandparents.
As for Thanh Tam, who was in the female military band, she had participated in the parade in mission A50. However, returning to mission A80 was a completely different experience. “Compared to previous periods, this time there were more soldiers, higher requirements, and harsher weather conditions. There were practice sessions where many of them fainted from exhaustion. However, no one gave up, the whole group still upheld their sense of responsibility and were determined to complete the mission excellently,” Thanh Tam shared.
Every step is in order, every gaze is determined on the training ground; amidst the scorching sun, overcoming injuries, the salty drops of sweat… is proof of the steel spirit of the soldiers of the Military Weapons. No need for flowery words, no need for ostentatious lenses, they are carrying out their sacred mission on the great festival of the nation with their own footsteps of pride and the passionate patriotic hearts of the children of Nghe An.
