Before the tournament started, the Thai press was surprised by the way the international media analyzed and evaluated the home team's ability to continue.

Meanwhile, the team with the highest rating in the group is the Netherlands with a 71.83% chance of advancing. Besides, Sweden has a 42.39% chance, and Egypt has the lowest chance with 8.99%.

The Thai women's volleyball team will play their first match against Egypt at the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship at 8:30 p.m. on Friday (August 22).

Meanwhile, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team also just moved to Thailand this morning, August 20. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team are in Group C with the teams of Poland, Germany and Kenya. The Vietnamese women's team is missing an important pillar, Bich Tuyen. She withdrew from the tournament because she felt that she was not treated fairly and respectfully by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).
