On the morning of November 22, the Ministry of Justice held the launching ceremony of the first National Press Award on the Judiciary sector to actively contribute to the development of the Ministry and the Judiciary sector. Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Tinh, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Award, chaired the ceremony.


Attending the launching ceremony were Ms. Phan Thi Quynh Mai, Deputy Director of the Department of Press and Publishing, Central Propaganda Department; Ms. Dang Thi Phuong Thao, Deputy Director of the Department of Press and Publishing, Ministry of Information and Communications; Mr. Vu Dinh Long, Deputy Head of the Department of Propaganda, Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Mr. Kieu Thanh Hung, Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi Journalists Association; Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai, General Secretary of the Vietnam Bar Federation and representatives of leaders of units under the Ministry of Justice.

On the side of Vietnam Law Newspaper - the standing agency organizing the award, there was Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Vu Hoai Nam, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee. Deputy Editors-in-Chief: Tran Ngoc Ha and Vu Hong Thuy, along with representatives of units under the Ministry of Justice, and representatives of press agencies.

Practically aiming at the 80th Anniversary of the Tradition Day of the Vietnamese Judicial Sector (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025) and the 6th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Judicial Sector, the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), promoting the role of the press, improving the quality of information and communication work, actively contributing to the development of the Ministry and the Judicial Sector, the Ministry of Justice launched the first National Press Award for the Judicial Sector (collectively referred to as the Press Award).

Reporting on the preparation for the award and preliminary information about the award, the Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Law Newspaper said that this is the first time the Ministry of Justice has organized a large-scale press award, assigning the Newspaper to coordinate with agencies and units to organize. This is the honor and pride of the Newspaper.

According to Editor-in-Chief Vu Hoai Nam, the Press Award aims to affirm the position, role, and great contributions of the Ministry and the Justice sector in 80 years of construction and growth to the cause of national construction and defense; especially the mark of the Ministry and the Sector in the work of perfecting institutions, enforcing laws, building and perfecting the socialist rule-of-law state of Vietnam in the new period; implementing the direction of General Secretary To Lam and other Party and State leaders on transforming the thinking of law-making; continuing to implement Resolution 27-NQ/TW dated November 9, 2022 of the 13th Party Central Committee on continuing to build and perfect the socialist rule-of-law state of Vietnam in the new period.

At the same time, the Press Awards also contribute to promoting the role of press agencies and press workers in discovering, praising and replicating advanced examples, good models and good initiatives in judicial work; the contributions that leave strong impressions of those working in judicial and legal work nationwide, especially judicial and legal work at the grassroots level; thereby creating spiritual motivation, encouraging and motivating cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in the whole sector to promote tradition; sense of responsibility, proactiveness, creativity and intelligence, spreading positive messages to the people and society; improving the quality and efficiency of work, building an increasingly strong judicial sector.

Through the Press Awards, actively reflect comprehensive information on the fields of operation of the Justice sector to create consensus in society regarding the performance of tasks of the Ministry and the Justice sector.

All Vietnamese citizens who do not violate the professional ethics of Vietnamese journalists, the Press Law, the Intellectual Property Law and other legal documents have the right to participate in the first National Journalism Award on the Judicial Sector.

Works participating in the Press Award are of all press genres writing about the Judiciary nationwide (except news and photos), published from May 1, 2023 to May 30, 2025 in all types of printed and electronic newspapers of central and local press agencies licensed by the Ministry of Information and Communications. Each author or group of authors can submit a maximum of 03 works to participate in the Award. The number of authors in a group of authors must not exceed 07 people.

The Organizing Committee of the Award will receive entries from the launch date of the Press Award (November 22, 2024) to June 10, 2025 (for entries sent by post, the deadline is calculated by postmark). Address for receiving entries: Vietnam Law Newspaper No. 42/29 Nguyen Chi Thanh, Ngoc Khanh, Ba Dinh, Hanoi.

The rules and results of the contest are posted on the Vietnam Law Newspaper (www.baophapluat.vn) and the Ministry of Justice's electronic information portal (www.moj.gov.vn).

The announcement and award ceremony of the "First National Press Award on the Judiciary Sector" will be held in August 2025, as an activity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnamese Judiciary Sector and the 6th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Judiciary Sector, Vietnam Law Day November 9, 2025.
