Ho Chi Minh City Command visits and presents gifts to meritorious people in Con Dao special zone

On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025), on the morning of July 25, a delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City Command led by Major General Vu Van Dien, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Commander of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, visited and presented gifts to former political prisoners, families of martyrs and people with revolutionary contributions in Con Dao special zone.

Joining the delegation were Colonel Tran Van Cu, Deputy Commander; Colonel Nguyen Dinh Chuan, Deputy Political Commissar of Ho Chi Minh City Command.

The delegation visited and presented gifts to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Vien (former political prisoner in Con Dao), Mr. Tran Van Tam (a person with meritorious services to the revolution) and 3 relatives of martyrs: Ms. Vo Thi Thanh, Ms. Le Thi Diem and Ms. Ha Thi To.

At the places he visited, Major General Vu Van Dien kindly asked about the health and living conditions of the families; expressed his deep gratitude for the contributions and sacrifices of martyrs, former political prisoners, and those who contributed to the cause of national liberation. He hoped that the families would continue to uphold the revolutionary tradition, be a shining example for the younger generation to follow, and contribute to the development of their homeland.

On this occasion, authorized by the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense , Major General Vu Van Dien presented each family with a gift worth 1.5 million VND.
