According to the guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training, for subjects assessed by comments combined with scores, high schools develop matrices, specifications, test questions and instructions for marking periodic tests to ensure professional and technical requirements.

The new matrix of periodic tests for each subject consists of 2 parts: Objective test (7 points) and essay (3 points).

In the objective test, students will have to solve the following types of questions: Multiple choice (3 points); True - False (2 points); Short answer (2 points).

As for “True-False” type questions, each question will include 4 sub-questions, each of which the student must choose true or false. Some documents classify these questions as complex multiple choice or multiple choice with multiple correct options.

For “short answer” questions, for subjects that do not use this format, transfer all points to the “True - False” format.

The Ministry of Education and Training requires this exam structure innovation to be implemented from semester 2 of the 2024-2025 school year.

The structure of the periodic test for junior high school and high school levels, as instructed by the Ministry of Education and Training, is partly inherited and close to the structure of the sample test for high school graduation exams according to the new general education program applied from 2025 onwards, which was announced a few months ago.
