Secretary of Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee: Urgently install roof at Vinh Hung ancient tower

On the afternoon of August 21, at Hung Vuong Square, Bac Lieu Ward (Ca Mau), the Ca Mau Province Literature and Arts Association in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association organized the opening of an art photography exhibition, with the theme "Love for the sea and islands of the homeland", to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.

Attending the exhibition were Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai, Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Pham Van Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Ca Mau Provincial People's Council; Colonel, photographer Doan Hoai Trung, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association.

The exhibition displays and introduces 272 typical photos of Truong Sa, DK1 Platform and the sea and islands of Ca Mau. The works are the crystallization of the passion, artistic labor and burning love of the photographers in Ho Chi Minh City and Ca Mau province for the sacred sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Through the activities, it contributes to raising awareness, national pride and responsibility of the community in the management, preservation and promotion of historical values, resources and cultural environment of sea and island tourism; at the same time, enhancing exchanges and organizing cultural and artistic activities, promoting tourism between Ca Mau province and Ho Chi Minh City. From there, affirming the determination to protect the values ​​of Vietnam's sea and islands, affirming the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland.

On the same afternoon, Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai, Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee, inspected and listened to reports on the results of the work of preserving and promoting the value of historical works and relics of Vinh Hung ancient tower (Chau Thoi commune); Cao Van Lau Theater and Ca Mau Provincial Museum (Bac Lieu Ward).

The leaders of Ca Mau province have listened to reports on difficulties in preserving and promoting the value of historical works and relics. In particular, Vinh Hung ancient tower currently has many items and equipment degraded and damaged due to the impact of the environment and weather, but the cost of restoration and upgrading has not met the requirements.

Through the actual inspection, Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai requested the People's Committee of Ca Mau province and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to quickly implement projects to upgrade and expand works and relics to effectively protect and promote the value of works, especially organizing activities to educate the historical traditions and cultural pride of Ca Mau for today's generation and exploit tourism development.

The Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee also requested the urgent installation of a roof at the Vinh Hung ancient tower area to limit the deterioration, improve the landscape of the relic site to attract tourists; at the same time, actively overcome the shortcomings in the facilities and equipment of the Cao Van Lau Theater.
