The opening of strategic bunkers aims to vividly recreate historical stories, pay tribute to previous generations, and at the same time arouse love for the Fatherland and national pride in the younger generation.
After a period of renovation, the tunnel was opened for people to visit and learn about.
On the opening morning, many families and students visited the Secret Cellar, a structure built during the resistance war against the US, helping the General Headquarters maintain command information in the conditions of fierce bombardment of Hanoi. Here, visitors can review the office, combat equipment, images of secret officers and soldiers, and many valuable secret messages on display for the first time.
At the same time, the exhibition “House and Bunker D67 - Journey to total victory” also opened with 4 major themes, clarifying the role of the General Staff during the period 1972-1975, including the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign.
Many activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 were also held at Thang Long Imperial Citadel on this occasion.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Tran Duc Cuong, Chairman of the Vietnam Historical Science Association, the opening and exhibition at the strategic tunnels affirms the special value of revolutionary relics in the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, contributing to educating the tradition of patriotism, the spirit of self-reliance and gratitude to previous generations.
In addition, from September 1, the Center will open the exhibition "Hanoi Flag Tower/Flagpole - Fatherland and the desire for peace" with a 3D mapping lighting system, honoring the historical and cultural values of a sacred symbol of the Capital.
