On the morning of June 16, the Central Propaganda Department held the Central Reporters Conference for June 2023.

At the conference, providing quick information about the incident causing disorder in Dak Lak, Major General Dang Hong Duc - Chief of Office of the Ministry of Public Security, said that at 0:35 on June 11, in Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province, there was an incident where 2 groups of armed people broke into and attacked the police headquarters of 2 communes: Ea Ktur and Ea Tieu.

The incident left 11 people injured and dead, including 9 dead: 4 commune police officers, 2 commune officials and 3 civilians, 2 commune police officers were injured; and 3 ethnic minorities were held hostage.

On the night of the incident, the Ministry of Public Security quickly increased its professional forces, deployed synchronous measures to surround and block off relevant areas, protect government headquarters, ensure security and safety for people and arrest the suspects. At the same time, urgently implemented policies and regimes, promptly visited and encouraged the families of the sacrificed and injured officers; visited and encouraged the families of the officers and people affected by the incident.

Major General Dang Hong Duc pointed out that with the spirit of fiercely attacking and capturing the subjects, the police force has so far arrested and dealt with over 50 subjects directly involved in the incident. Currently, all the leaders of this incident have been arrested by the authorities and many weapons have been seized; 3 hostages have been rescued absolutely safely.

The Chief of the Office of the Ministry of Public Security informed that through initial investigation, most of the arrested subjects were young people, who committed the acts due to incitement and provocation through cyberspace and were incited to divide the Kinh people and ethnic minorities...

According to initial assessment, the cause was due to the conspiracy of hostile forces, some Fulro exiles incited some ethnic minorities to divide Kinh people from ethnic minorities, causing disorder and causing resonance abroad. The police force is continuing to investigate and clarify this issue.

Regarding the direction and measures in the coming time, Major General Dang Hong Duc emphasized that the Ministry of Public Security will continue to arrest all criminals and seize all weapons and explosives.

At the same time, ensure absolute safety for the people and the forces participating in the arrest; conduct investigation and handle the case promptly in accordance with regulations. Direct the review of all plans to ensure absolute security for key areas, targets and fields, grasp the situation and advise the Party Committee and the government to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management, eliminate potential complicated factors that arise early and from afar.

The Ministry of Public Security requests that Party committees and authorities of Dak Lak province, the Central Highlands provinces and neighboring provinces pay special attention to implementing mass mobilization work well, grasping the people, being close to the people, promptly detecting pressing conflicts within the people to resolve them early, from the root, and raising the vigilance of the masses against the plots and tricks of hostile reactionary forces to sabotage and incite division of the great national unity bloc, and promoting the movement of the entire people to protect national security.

Major General Dang Hong Duc stated: " Without the support of the people of Dak Lak province, it would not have been possible for the police force to capture all the ringleaders and most of the people directly involved in the incident in such a short time.

During the pursuit, absolute safety was also ensured for officers and people. Up to today, in Cu Kuin district and especially in the two communes, life has returned to normal, back to the peaceful life it once had .
