Celebrating the 50th anniversary of national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), Ho Chi Minh City Women's Newspaper and the accompanying unit Ho Chi Minh City General Publishing House organized the award ceremony of the writing contest My City .
Launched in October 2023, the contest is an opportunity to honor economic, social, and cultural achievements, works that change the face of the city, heritages with cultural and historical values, and especially simple but generous people. The contest also introduces initiatives and suggestions from experts and people, contributing to the overall development of the city.

Editor-in-Chief of Ho Chi Minh City Women's Newspaper Ly Viet Trung, Head of the contest's organizing committee, said that after launching, My City received more than 1,000 articles from domestic and foreign authors with diverse topics, stories, characters and many emotions conveyed.

The organizers awarded the first prize to the work Thank you for letting me enter your heart! by Ray KusChert; 2 second prizes were awarded to the work The daughter of the person who proposed the name Ho Chi Minh City by poet - doctor Tran Quoc Vinh and the group of works Revival on the dangerous lands (Diem Mi). Three works: Vinh Loc like my mother's hometown (Nguyen Van My), Fresh green Nhieu Loc canal (Bui Thi Dong Dao), Like a word of gratitude (Huynh Truong Phat) shared the third prize.
The works receiving encouragement prizes include: The newspapers with the fragrant smell of ink in the alley of Ong Hoang market (Nguyen Duoc); Saigon, let me live a beautiful youth (Ngo Thi Thu Van); Staying in Saigon (Hoang Hien); And the forest has turned green for the city...
