On May 4, the Southeast Regional Office of Thanh Nien Newspaper coordinated with the Military Command of Con Dao District (Ba Ria - Vung Tau) to organize a program to present bicycles "Helping you go to school" to students of Cao Van Ngoc Primary School and Le Hong Phong Secondary School (Con Dao District).

At the program, representatives of Thanh Nien Newspaper presented 35 bicycles to disadvantaged students of the two schools. These bicycles were sponsored by Hinh Thinh Trading Company Limited, Minh Hanh Construction Materials Company Limited, Thien Hoang Trading and Construction Service Company Limited and Dieu Hien Bus Company, with a value of nearly 65 million VND.

On this occasion, Ms. Le Thi Van Anh (Ba Ria City) also donated 12 cartons of milk (worth 3 million VND) to Tuoi Tho Kindergarten (Con Dao District).

Mr. Le Truc Thanh Tung, Principal of Le Hong Phong Secondary School, thanked Thanh Nien Newspaper, the Military Command of Con Dao District and benefactors for giving bicycles to the children so they could go to school.

"Among the students who received gifts, each student's situation is different. Each student's family has a different story, each student has a different pain, but all have many difficulties and disadvantages in life. Each student receives learning conditions, a new bicycle, they will go to school with a more steady and confident appearance. This is a truly meaningful gift for the students. The school is very grateful to Thanh Nien Newspaper and the benefactors, and hopes that the newspaper will pay more attention to the disadvantaged students on this island district," Mr. Tung shared.

Leading her daughter out of the gate of Le Hong Phong Secondary School, Ms. Hong Khiem (parent of Khanh Van, class 3A, Cao Ba Ngoc Primary School) thanked Thanh Nien Newspaper and philanthropists for their concern for disadvantaged students of Con Dao.

"I work as a hotel employee, leaving early and returning late. My child's father works at sea, so it's difficult to take him to school. Now that he has a bicycle to get to school, the family is very happy," said Ms. Hong Khiem.
