Bac Ninh issues plan to organize the 10th Sports Congress at all levels in 2026

The organization of the Sports Congress at all levels aims to promote the implementation of Conclusion No. 70-KL/TW dated January 31, 2024 of the Politburo on the development of physical training and sports in the new period; Decision No. 1198/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister approving the Strategy for physical training and sports development to 2030, with a vision to 2045 and the Campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" for the period 2021-2030.

Create a profound change in the awareness and actions of all levels, sectors and the whole society about the benefits and role of physical training and sports (hereinafter referred to as physical training and sports) in improving the health and physical strength of the people, contributing to promoting the Campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" and the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life", expanding and improving the quality of the mass physical training and sports movement, restoring and developing national sports and traditional sports of the locality.

Increase investment in renovating and upgrading facilities and equipment for sports at the grassroots level; improve the management, organization and operation capacity of staff, coaches, instructors, collaborators and sports referees at all levels.

Through Sports Congresses at all levels to discover and select athletes with outstanding achievements, contributing to the development of high-performance sports for the locality and the country.

The 10th Bac Ninh Provincial Sports Festival in 2026 strives to have 99 communes and wards organize grassroots sports festivals; Sectors organize sports festivals at agencies and units or organize sports activities in response. Grassroots level festivals organize competitions well.

At the 10th National Sports Congress in 2026, the Bac Ninh Provincial Sports Delegation strives to win 30 or more gold medals and be in the top 10 of provinces, cities and sectors.

According to the issued plan, the Sports Festival at the commune, ward and sector levels will organize competitions in 8 or more sports (mountainous communes will organize competitions in 5 or more sports), focusing on the strengths and traditions of the locality and unit, and ethnic sports that are loved and actively practiced by the people. Depending on the specific facilities and expertise, priority will be given to organizing the following sports: Athletics, Swimming, Football, Volleyball, Volleyball, Badminton, Folk Dance, Tug of War, etc. The organization time is from January 1, 2026 to August 30, 2026 at communes, wards, agencies and units.

The Provincial Sports Festival organizes competitions in 20 or more sports, focusing on key high-performance sports, traditional and ethnic sports that are loved by the people and have a strong development movement in the province: Indoor athletics, Men's football, Women's football, Volleyball, Table tennis, Badminton, Swimming, Freestyle wrestling, Ethnic wrestling, Karatedo, Traditional martial arts, Taekwondo, Tennis, Pickleball, Chess, Chinese chess, Cross-country, Shuttlecock, Stick pushing, Tug of war... The organization time is from February 2026 to the end of September 2026 at locations according to the instructions of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The opening ceremony of the Provincial Sports Festival is scheduled for September 2026 at Bac Giang Stadium, Bac Giang Ward.

The Provincial People's Committee requests units to promote the role and responsibility of Party committees, authorities and the whole society for sports and physical training in general and the organization of congresses in particular. Sports congresses at all levels must ensure safety, economy, efficiency, and proper etiquette. The organization of the congress can be combined with major holidays and traditional days of the unit and locality. Actively mobilize social resources to contribute to the construction, renovation and upgrading of sports institutions, facilities, sports equipment and the organization of congresses at all levels.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to direct the review of the athlete force of the provincial sports teams, proactively develop plans and select and add the most elite and excellent athletes to the provincial sports teams to train and compete at the 10th National Sports Festival in 2026 to achieve high results, striving to be ranked in the top 10 provinces, cities and sectors nationwide.
