Speaking to VietNamNet reporters, a representative of the leadership of Mien Tay Bus Station (Binh Tan District) confirmed that since 5am this morning, Thanh Buoi Company's passenger transport activities at Mien Tay Bus Station have been temporarily suspended. However, this sudden stoppage has not affected operations at the station.
"This bus company only registers 35 passengers per day; currently, Thanh Buoi Company will refund those who book tickets in advance. As for passengers who have not purchased tickets, they choose another bus company to travel," the representative informed.
At the existing Mien Dong bus station and the new Mien Dong bus station, the operation situation is still stable. The reason is that Thanh Buoi Company has stopped registering to operate here for a long time.
From 5am this morning, Thanh Buoi Company announced that all routes Ho Chi Minh City - Da Lat, Ho Chi Minh City - Can Tho, Da Lat - Can Tho have stopped carrying passengers, with instructions for passengers who have booked in advance, the bus company will contact them to refund.
At Thanh Buoi company's headquarters at 266-268 Le Hong Phong (Ward 4, District 5); Thanh Buoi Garage office at 630 Dien Bien Phu (Ward 22, Binh Thanh District), the location at land lot No. 1 Vinh Vien (District 10) is still open but quite deserted, only serving the need of transporting goods.
100 more buses added to the Eastern Bus Station – Da Lat route
In response to the situation of Thanh Buoi Company temporarily suspending passenger transport activities, and to ensure the travel needs of people from Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho City, Da Lat City and vice versa, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport said that it has proactively worked with inter-provincial bus stations to prepare plans to take on operations as well as increase operating vehicles.
In particular, for the new and old Eastern Bus Station, there is currently a plan to increase 100 vehicles to operate on the Eastern Bus Station - Da Lat route to ensure the travel needs of the people. For the Western Bus Station, the Department of Transport has also worked with the operating unit to ensure meeting all trips from the Western Bus Station - Can Tho.
People who want to go to Da Lat or Can Tho can go to the new Eastern Bus Station, Nga Tu Ga Bus Station, An Suong Bus Station or Western Bus Station to book tickets at the ticket counters in the bus stations. To look up inter-provincial bus routes, people can visit the bus stations' websites to book tickets.
In addition, the Department has worked with Samco Corporation to arrange 40 more free passenger shuttle buses. In the coming time, we will continue to monitor people's travel situation to make timely adjustments to ensure meeting demand.
The Department of Transport assessed that currently, the travel demand of people from Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho City, Da Lat City and vice versa is in a normal period, not peak time.
