On the evening of August 13, the final round of the group stage of the 2025 ASEAN Women's Football Championship - ASEAN Cup ended. Myanmar let the Philippines tie 1-1, but 7 points were enough for them to win first place in Group B.
This result made the Philippines the former champion of the 2025 ASEAN Women's Cup tournament. In the remaining match, Australia crushed Timor Leste with a score of 9-0 to finish second in the group with 6 points.
Thus, the 2025 ASEAN Women's Cup semi-finals have determined the four representatives entering the semi-finals: the first team of Group A - Vietnam, the second team of Group A - Thailand, the first team of Group B - Myanmar and the second team of Group B U23 Australia. Accordingly, the first semi-final will be the confrontation between Myanmar and Thailand, the second semi-final will be the confrontation between the Vietnamese women's team and the Australian U23 team.
The opponent of the Vietnamese women's team in this year's semi-finals is the U23 Australia team with a young force full of potential. In the group stage, Australia was defeated by Myanmar with a score of 2-1 when the Southeast Asian representative took a 2-goal lead.
In this arena, the Thai women's team is the team with the most championships with 4 times, counting from the predecessor tournament AFF Women's Championship in 2011, 2015, 2016, 2018.
Following in the tournament's achievements is the Vietnamese women's team with 3 championships in 2006, 2012 and 2019. Meanwhile, Myanmar ranked 3rd with 2 championships in 2004 and 2007.
Both semi-finals will take place on August 16. The match between Mai Duc Chung and his team will take place at 8 p.m.
