As soon as he entered the men's singles final of the PPA Tour Asia - Hong Kong (China), Linh Giang played confidently and quickly took a 2-0 lead against home player Jack Wong.
From here, the score was tied up until 3-3. With skillful handling and effective twists, Linh Giang suddenly took the lead 6-3, then 7-3.
However, opponent Jack Wong stubbornly narrowed the gap, successively winning 5-7, 7-9 and drawing 9-9. In a tense match, the Hong Kong (China) player took advantage of the opportunity to win the first set 11-9, although Linh Giang had many dangerous backhand shots to the far corner.
Entering the second set, both players lost their first two serves. It was not until the third serve that Linh Giang opened the set and from there created a series of 6 consecutive points, then led 8-4. Not letting go of the advantage, the Hanoi player continued to skillfully twist his side, quickly ending the set with a victory of 11-4.
In the deciding set, Jack Wong started strongly, leading 2-0 and then breaking away 6-0. However, Linh Giang stubbornly tied the score at 6-6, promptly accelerated, scored 3 consecutive points and took the advantage in the score race to lead 9-6 against his opponent.
Linh Giang was led 6-0, fought back to equalize 6-6 but still could not win the final match against Jack Wong.
However, Jack Wong quickly asked for medical attention for the scratch on his leg. Before that, when Giang won 2-6, his opponent also had a time out to slow down the rhythm, interrupting the excitement of the Vietnamese player.
Returning to the third set, Jack Wong gradually equalized and won 11-9 with 5 consecutive points. Closing the dramatic match with each point and reasonable tactics, the home player successfully avenged Linh Giang with a score of 2-1, after losing the semi-final match in Malaysia to Giang.
