Determined to reach the finish line of a model new rural commune by the end of this year, at this time, the cadres and people of An Phu commune (Vu Quang, Ha Tinh) are sprinting, focusing on completing the criteria.

Coming to An Phu commune today, everyone can clearly feel the "change of skin, change of flesh" in this purely agricultural land. The clearest evidence is the improved living standards of the people, the renovated infrastructure, the clean and beautiful environment... With the goal of successfully building a model new-style rural commune by the end of this year, the government and people of An Phu are focusing their efforts to complete the criteria.

Taking advantage of their free time, the people of Village 1 focused on trimming trees and cleaning the roads to create a landscape for the village. Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong - a resident of Village 1 said: "Since starting to build the new rural area, the landscape, the spiritual and material life of my family as well as the people in the village have clearly improved. Therefore, without anyone reminding anyone, each person voluntarily and actively carried out the tasks with the hope of soon bringing the commune to the model new rural area finish line."

The government and people of An Phu commune are focusing on achieving the model new rural commune goal by the end of this year.

Mr. Cu Huy Phuc - Secretary of the Party Cell of Village 1 shared: "Determining that building a new rural area only has a starting point, not an ending point, the village always maintains regular activities of labor, sanitation, and embellishment of public works and gardens... Since the beginning of the year, the whole village has embellished 45 model gardens; relocated 20 auxiliary works; built 2 bright - green - clean - beautiful roads; renewed nearly 1 km of sidewalks... In particular, the village is being piloted by the district to build an ecological residential cluster".

The urgent atmosphere of building new rural areas is not only taking place in village 1 but most villages in An Phu commune are also trying to improve the quality of new rural criteria such as: traffic, environment, irrigation... In village 4, cadres and people are also focusing on improving roads, building model gardens, and cultural house grounds to create highlights for the residential area.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan - Secretary of Party Cell 4 said: "Although the weather in the past few days has not been favorable, with a high spirit of determination, from the beginning of August until now, the whole commune has mobilized over 100 working days, renovated 10 household gardens, renewed 2 green tree-lined roads and many other practical tasks. This will be the "leverage" to help An Phu get closer to the goal of a model new-style rural commune by the end of this year."

Aiming to become a model new-style rural commune by the end of the year, recently, An Phu commune has proactively reviewed and evaluated the level of completion of criteria, and developed a detailed and specific plan. From there, it has focused on propagating and mobilizing people to participate resolutely to upgrade and complete unmet criteria.

Up to now, An Phu commune has achieved 2 model NTM criteria: 100% of villages meet the standard of model NTM residential area and the criterion of having at least one outstanding field. The remaining 2 criteria have not been achieved: average income per capita and the criterion of having at least one smart residential area.

To achieve this result, in addition to the active participation of cadres, party members and people, there is also the support of units such as the District Women's Union, Youth Union... through practical and specific actions such as: eliminating mixed gardens; building, consolidating and upgrading rural roads; mobilizing people to donate land for road construction and welfare works.

Mr. Tran Thu - Party Secretary, Chairman of An Phu Commune People's Committee excitedly said: "With the participation of the forces, it has contributed to creating strong changes in infrastructure in the commune; thereby, helping the locality get closer to the goal of a model new-style rural commune".

According to Mr. Thu, since the beginning of the year, the commune has mobilized more than 1,000 working days and nearly 2 billion VND to improve the quality of the NTM criteria; at the same time, implementing the construction of 1 ecological residential area, 5 ecological garden houses; mobilizing over 700 households to decorate gardens, cover barns... Thanks to that, up to now, the locality has achieved 2/4 of the model NTM criteria. Those results not only help the commune get closer to the goal of a model NTM commune but also help the district reach the advanced NTM goal soon".
