Safety first
Praising the efforts of VATM staff and workers who have made positive contributions to the aviation industry in particular and the transportation industry in general, Minister Tran Hong Minh acknowledged that VATM has achieved good results in safely operating flights last year, contributing to minimizing flight safety incidents and increasing revenue and profits.
VATM needs to thoroughly resolve projects that have been delayed for a long time, such as the Central Air Traffic Management Headquarters and the radar procurement project; at the same time, draw profound lessons from project bidding; strictly handle project management boards that are behind schedule and corrupt; study and reorganize the apparatus to ensure streamlining and efficiency, focusing on developing high-quality human resources."

Increase revenue and flight operations output
Mr. Nguyen Cong Long, General Director of VATM, said that by December 31, 2024, the Corporation's flight operations output reached 864,725 flights, equal to 108.03% of the 2024 plan.
“In 2024, total flight operations output increased by nearly 14.23% compared to the same period in 2023, while incidents and incidents related to flight safety decreased significantly by about 36.59%. This reflects that VATM's safety management work has been and is achieving remarkable results. The Corporation's flight operations service providers have organized to ensure coordination, command, and absolute flight operations safety for 100% of flights within the assigned responsibility area,” affirmed VATM General Director Nguyen Cong Long.

All production and business performance targets in 2024 exceeded the plan, the average salary is expected to reach VND 28.7 million/person/month last year (up 5% compared to the 2024 plan).
VATM has completed the design of flight methods, air routes and airspace organization for the Tan Son Nhat-Long Thanh-Bien Hoa airport cluster according to the scenario to meet the overall capacity scale and the initial scenario to put Long Thanh airport into operation.
To optimize airspace capacity, increase aircraft reception capacity, reduce workload for air traffic controllers, and ensure safe, smooth, and efficient flight operations, VATM has organized the adjustment of zonal responsibility boundaries; researched and implemented the reduction of minimum surveillance separation standards;...
Over the past year, VATM has presided over and coordinated with airlines and military agencies to amend and design many flight methods, air routes and airspaces to submit to competent authorities for approval and implementation. The air routes, flight methods and airspaces have been optimized to meet actual operational requirements and are consistent with the general plans and orientations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) as well as Vietnam.
In 2024, total flight operations output increased by nearly 14.23% compared to 2023, but incidents related to flight safety decreased by about 36.59%, showing that VATM's safety management work achieved remarkable results. VATM has organized to ensure coordination, command, and absolute safety operations for 100% of flights in the assigned area of responsibility.
