The gold market continuously reached new peaks during the weekend. After increasing to a high of 124 million VND yesterday, today, domestic gold bar prices are being listed by businesses such as SJC, DOJI , PNJ, Bao Tin Minh Chau at 124.4 million VND/tael for selling and 123.2 million VND/tael for buying (an increase of 600,000 VND compared to yesterday). Mi Hong continued to list the buying price at a high of 123.6 million VND. Phu Quy listed the buying price at 122.2 million VND/tael.
The gold ring market also recorded an impressive increase when the selling price at all businesses is surpassing the 120 million VND/tael mark. Currently, Phu Quy is trading both buying and selling prices at 117-120 million VND/tael; Bao Tin Minh Chau is keeping it at 116-120 million VND/tael. Mi Hong is listed at 118.2-119.2 million VND/tael; SJC is also trading below the general level of 119.8 million VND/tael.
In summary, gold prices last week generally increased. Compared to the beginning of the week, domestic gold prices increased by 900,000 VND/tael.
The world gold price today also continued to increase yesterday. According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4:00 a.m. on August 9, Vietnam time, was at 3,390.84 USD/ounce, up 3.26 USD/ounce compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate at Vietcombank (26,400 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 111.35 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is 13.05 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.
