On January 24, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Luan, Head of the Interventional Radiology Unit, Deputy Head of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging, Gia Dinh People's Hospital, said that when placing the speculum, he saw a bunch of twisted blood vessels in the left vaginal wall of Ms. N., purple like a bunch of grapes. After inserting the needle under the guidance of the X-ray background, the doctor saw the contrast agent spreading out exactly like a cluster of malformed veins, so he decided to perform sclerotherapy injection.

Thanks to accurate diagnosis and timely treatment, after 1 day, Ms. N's health recovered and she was discharged from the hospital.

Vascular malformations are rare diseases.

Dr. Bui Chi Thuong, Head of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Gia Dinh People's Hospital, said that currently, the world has only recorded 3-4 cases of pelvic vascular malformations and vulvar-vaginal malformations in young girls. Rare cases like Mrs. N. (57 years old) have not been found in world medical literature. However, with high determination, doctors have coordinated with many specialties to promptly and successfully treat the patient.
