At the press conference to inform about the first "Vietnamese Rice Flour Festival" in 2025, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association, the Organizing Committee said that this activity is expected to be a rich and attractive culinary cultural event.
With the theme "Delicious dishes from vermicelli", the festival has the participation of 100-150 booths displaying and introducing vermicelli flour products, fresh vermicelli, rice noodles, processed spices and special side dishes.

Visitors not only have the opportunity to enjoy famous nationwide vermicelli dishes but also learn about the traditional rice noodle production process and interact with culinary experts.
The event will bring you a journey to discover a variety of famous noodle dishes from all over the country, from Hanoi vermicelli with grilled pork, Hai Phong perch vermicelli, Hue beef vermicelli, crab vermicelli, Can Tho vermicelli with fish sauce, Nha Trang vermicelli with fish, Soc Trang vermicelli with broth... The highlight is the performance - setting a record of 100 delicious dishes made from rice noodles.
According to the representative of the Organizing Committee, because the program has many activities related to cuisine and is expected to have a large number of domestic and foreign visitors, risk management work is being closely prepared.
Specifically, security forces will always be on duty during the program (from October 16 to October 19 at 23/9 Park, Ben Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) to prevent pickpockets and ensure safety and order.
The organizers also prepared ambulances around the event area to take care of medical work.
In particular, ensuring food safety and hygiene is very important and is given top priority. The festival only cooperates with reputable noodle brands to provide clean noodles to food stalls to serve diners.

At the same time, the Organizing Committee closely coordinated with the Department of Food Safety of Ho Chi Minh City, from requesting units with booths to fully prepare the necessary documents and procedures when participating in the event, to organizing instructions on compliance with food safety and hygiene.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety also conducted field inspections and took food samples during the 4 days of the event.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Khanh, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association, shared that the Vietnamese Rice Festival program has profound humanistic meaning, contributing to demonstrating the position of the country's culture and cuisine.
“We will do our best to help Vietnamese traditional cuisine reach further and be elevated. In addition to pho, bun will soon be known to international friends, and tourists coming to Vietnam will seek out this delicious dish,” the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association hopes.
Strengthen inspection of moon cakes
On August 21, a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Department (Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade) said that in September, the market management force will coordinate with the Department of Food Safety and the Department of Industry and Trade to focus on inspecting moon cakes, because this is an item that often appears to be mixed with poor quality goods of unknown origin during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Specifically, the authorities will conduct synchronous inspections at the distribution system, and at the same time expand to production and business establishments and households in the area. The goal is to create a quality control chain, contributing to protecting the health and interests of consumers.
