By the morning of March 30, the Criminal Police Department, Khanh Hoa Provincial Police had summoned 80 people to take statements, serve the investigation and classify for handling in the brawl on National Highway 1.

Of these, the authorities have detained a total of 37 people to investigate the act of disturbing public order. The case has been prosecuted.

According to initial investigation, Nguyen Duc Trong (16 years old) and Le Trung Kien (17 years old, both living in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa) had a conflict on social media. The two then arranged to meet to "resolve the conflict".

These two subjects mobilized dozens of young people from Nha Trang City, Dien Khanh District and Ninh Hoa Town to meet on National Highway 1, through Vinh Phuong Commune (Nha Trang City) to resolve the conflict in the early morning of March 27.

When they met, the subjects drove motorbikes in groups, revved their engines, honked loudly, and then rushed into a fight. The subjects used many types of weapons such as: glass bottles, knives, spears, and pitchforks to fight. The fight left a young man injured and had to be hospitalized.

Task Force 979 of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police coordinated with local police forces to quickly arrive, prevent the incident, suppress the subjects, and seize many weapons.

Immediately afterwards, the Provincial Police Investigation Agency summoned dozens of subjects to the headquarters to take statements. At the same time, the police initiated criminal proceedings and issued emergency detention orders against many subjects, including Le Trung Kien and Nguyen Duc Trong, for further investigation and handling according to the law.
