On the afternoon of April 22, in Sam Son City, the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee held a workshop to exchange experiences on mass mobilization work in the Mong ethnic minority area, Thanh Hoa province in 2024.
Attending the workshop were representatives of the District Party Committee, People's Committee, and the District Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee: Muong Lat, Quan Son, Quan Hoa; heads of mass mobilization blocks of 10 communes with Mong people, and prestigious people of 44 Mong villages in the province.
The workshop assessed the results of the implementation, propaganda and dissemination of the Party's guidelines and resolutions, the State's, the Central's, the provincial's and local's legal policies to the Mong ethnic minority people in the province in recent years; the results of implementing annual criteria on improving the material and spiritual life and access to basic social services for the Mong ethnic minority people; on building a contingent of cadres; on ensuring national defense and security in the spirit of Conclusion No. 684-KL/TU dated December 10, 2021 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee.

According to the synthesis of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, after more than 2 years of implementing the Conclusion of the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee, up to now, organizations in 10 communes in the Mong ethnic minority region have built and promoted 40 models of "Skilled Mass Mobilization" in economic development, poverty reduction and building a new cultural life. The average annual poverty rate has been reduced by over 7.5%. 35/44 villages in the Mong ethnic minority region have and effectively used communal cultural houses, reaching 79.55%; 57/217 (accounting for 26.3%) of cadres and civil servants of communes with Mong people can communicate in Mong language. 100% of Mong people have been mobilized not to migrate freely, not to participate in illegal religious and belief activities...

However, the implementation of the Conclusion of the Provincial Party Standing Committee still has some limitations, such as: The awareness of responsibility in the leadership, direction and implementation of the conclusions of some Party committees, authorities, Fatherland Front, and commune-level organizations with Mong people has not met the requirements. The training, fostering, evaluation and use of Mong ethnic cadres are currently difficult; the cadres doing ethnic work and policy work are still lacking and weak in professional expertise. The socio-economic situation of the Mong ethnic minority region still has many difficulties, the gap in living standards and income is still low compared to other ethnic groups...

At the workshop, the presentations focused on exchanging and sharing experiences, good practices, limitations and weaknesses; pointing out the causes of limitations and weaknesses in mass mobilization work in the Mong ethnic minority region in the past time. At the same time, from practical work, the presentations also proposed methods and solutions to strengthen the leadership of Party committees, raise awareness and responsibility of the political system for mass mobilization work in the Mong ethnic minority region. Innovate and improve the quality of mass mobilization work of grassroots authorities; promote the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, organizations; prestigious people in mass mobilization work in the Mong ethnic minority region. Continue to innovate the content and methods of operation of the mass mobilization bloc and mass mobilization teams; ensure security and order, religious security, border security in the current Mong ethnic minority region and advise on perfecting and consolidating the organization and staff; pay attention to creating favorable conditions to support the mass mobilization bloc and mass mobilization teams in the Mong ethnic minority region to operate effectively...

The representative of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee suggested that in the coming time, localities need to step up propaganda and education activities to raise awareness of the meaning and importance of mass mobilization work, focusing on effectively propagating policies and support from the State to the Mong ethnic minority region. In addition, it is necessary to actively carry out grassroots mass mobilization work, especially promoting the spirit of great solidarity, implementing solutions to focus on economic development, reducing the gap in living standards and low income compared to other ethnic groups.
