On the morning of July 2, the People's Procuracy of Thanh Hoa province and the People's Procuracy of Hua Phan province (Lao PDR) held a conference to exchange operational experiences and sign a memorandum of understanding for 2024.

Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Procuracy and Hua Phan Provincial People's Procuracy signed a memorandum of understanding.

At the meeting, the two sides informed each other about the socio-economic development, national defense and security of the two provinces and the activities of the People's Procuracy of the two provinces in recent times. Accordingly, the two sides have regularly monitored activities in their professional fields; at the same time, periodically visited and worked, exchanging experiences to make the fight against crime more effective.

From October 2022 to June 2024 alone, on the border, the specialized anti-drug forces of Thanh Hoa and Hua Phan provinces coordinated 68 patrols, successfully fought 4 major cases, and eliminated 2 transnational drug trafficking and transportation rings. Detected and prosecuted 175 cases, 278 defendants. Seized about 33 heroin cakes; 3.5 kg of opium resin and more than 28 kg of synthetic drugs along with many other related evidences...

The two sides also assessed that this visit and working session contributed to continuing to foster and develop the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Thanh Hoa and Hua Phan provinces, especially between the People's Procuracy of Thanh Hoa and Hua Phan provinces.

Based on the assessment of the implementation of the memorandums of understanding between the People's Procuracies of the two provinces in the past time, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding to continue promoting the friendship and solidarity between the People's Procuracies of Thanh Hoa and Hua Phan provinces to continuously develop; strengthen the implementation of judicial assistance according to the Judicial Assistance Agreement signed by the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Government of the Lao People's Democratic Republic on July 6, 1998 and the guidance of the Supreme People's Procuracies of the two countries.

On this occasion, leaders of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Procuracy and Hua Phan Provincial People's Procuracy presented each other souvenirs to express the affection, respect and special attachment of the two provinces' procuracies.
