Ho Chi Minh City starts construction of nearly 30 large-scale infrastructure projects

The projects launched by Ho Chi Minh City this time range from transport infrastructure to urban beautification with the expectation of creating a strong change in the city's socio-economic development.

According to the plan, the city will have 9 central-level projects and works and 30 city-level projects started and inaugurated. Of these, 9 central-level projects include 5 newly started projects and 4 completed and put into use; Ho Chi Minh City simultaneously started 23 projects and inaugurated 7 city-level projects.

Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Bui Xuan Cuong inspected the actual situation, ensuring safety for the groundbreaking of projects.

Notably, the project to dredge, build infrastructure, and improve the environment of the North bank of the Doi Canal stretches across three wards: Chanh Hung, Binh Dong, and Phu Dinh. With a total investment of VND 7,300 billion, this is considered one of the key projects of the Ho Chi Minh City urban beautification program. When completed, the project will not only improve the water environment and reduce flooding, but also contribute to increasing the green area, creating a civilized and modern urban landscape; improving the quality of life of people in the North bank of the Doi Canal.

Another project that has attracted great attention is the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway. This route is more than 50km long, designed with 4 lanes, maximum speed of 120km/h, with a total investment of more than 19,600 billion VND. When completed and put into use, this expressway will share traffic pressure with National Highway 22, shortening travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to Tay Ninh ; enhancing trade and logistics connections with neighboring Cambodia.

During this period, the city also started upgrading and expanding DT748 road from Phu Thu intersection to the North Belt of My Phuoc town and building an underpass at the Phuoc Kien intersection (formerly Binh Duong province). In particular, the project to upgrade and expand the Dinh intersection (formerly National Highway 1 - Nguyen Van Qua, District 12) was also started. When put into use, the overpass will help relieve traffic congestion that has existed for many years at the Northwest gateway of Ho Chi Minh City, reduce the risk of accidents and improve traffic capacity on National Highway 1...
