During the visit, General Secretary and President To Lam had high-level talks, meetings and contacts with leaders of the Party, State, Government, National Assembly and People's Government of Cuba and a number of activities to develop the solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the two Parties, two States and peoples of Vietnam and Cuba to a new height. The two leaders of Vietnam and Cuba are determined to continue to strongly develop the traditional solidarity, especially friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba to a new height that is more comprehensive, practical, effective and sustainable, in the spirit of working together, cooperating together, developing together, for the cause of developing and building socialism, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, for peace, cooperation and development in each region and the world. During the visit, on behalf of the leaders of the Cuban Party and State, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of Cuba Miguel Diaz Canel presided over the ceremony to award the José Martí Medal to General Secretary and President To Lam. This is the most noble award of the Cuban Party and State in recognition of General Secretary and President To Lam's invaluable contributions to the development of solidarity, friendship and loyalty between the Party, State and people of Vietnam and Cuba.

On the occasion of the State visit to the Republic of Cuba, General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, visited and laid wreaths at the Ho Chi Minh Monument in the park named after him in the capital city of Havana.
