6 major policy recommendations with solutions for land accumulation

Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union Luong Quoc Doan said that the union has received nearly 3,000 opinions and recommendations on 6 main groups of issues. That is, the State needs to have stronger mechanisms and policies to promote and develop the collective economy in agriculture.

The Government needs to promptly issue synchronous solutions and policies to promote the implementation of the 2024 Land Law. In particular, solutions on land concentration and accumulation are needed to unlock land resources, serve agricultural production, rural development and increase farmers' income.

At the same time, the Government is interested in researching and issuing solutions and policies to soon promote the effectiveness of the pilot program to build five concentrated raw material areas, and continue to expand other raw material areas, thereby forming concentrated production areas towards high quality, reducing emissions and protecting the environment.

Along with that, it is necessary to issue strong enough mechanisms and policies to unblock credit flows for agricultural and rural development; support the recovery and restoration of agricultural production due to negative impacts from natural disasters, storms, floods, and climate change; and effectively implement and expand agricultural insurance policies.

There are specific solutions and measures to innovate and improve the quality of vocational training for rural workers to meet the increasingly high demands and requirements for the qualifications and quality of rural workers, adapting to the digital transformation process in agriculture.

In his orientation speech, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said the dialogue was to show gratitude to farmers, cooperatives, and those working in the agricultural sector, and to farmers and rural areas who have made very important contributions.

In particular, last year, agriculture had very impressive achievements, with import and export reaching a record of about 62.5 billion USD, higher than the assigned target of 55 billion USD. This result affirms the position and role of agriculture, farmers and rural areas in the overall development of the country.

Sending his warmest greetings, kind regards, and best wishes on the occasion of the upcoming New Year, the Prime Minister suggested that discussions should stick to the topic, share, listen receptively, join hands, and work together to develop the country.
