Pham Thi Van Anh - former student of class 12A1, Nguyen Binh Khiem High School (Hai Phong) became the national valedictorian of block D01 in the 2023 high school graduation exam.

Van Anh achieved a total score of 28.9 with both subject groups A01 (Math, Physics, English) and D01 (Math, Literature, English).

Before knowing the 2023 high school graduation exam results, the female student submitted an early admission application (based on academic records) to the Diplomatic Academy and Foreign Trade University.

With the first prize in the Math competition for gifted students in Hai Phong city in grade 12 and always being the top student in the whole school, Van Anh was admitted to both schools. Therefore, she was not too stressed before the announcement of the admission scores.

Van Anh shared that there was a time when she considered applying to Hanoi National University of Education because if she studied there, she would receive a monthly stipend. This would help her family and herself reduce the pressure and financial burden in the upcoming study journey.

"Hanoi National University of Education gives priority to considering transcripts for candidates who have won national excellent student competitions. I did not meet that criterion so I switched to other schools" - Van Anh said.

Sharing the reason for choosing Foreign Trade University, Van Anh said that this is a prestigious school with a leading reputation for training in the field of economics and extracurricular activities. Therefore, she decided to arrange her highest wishes into the majors of this school.

"I am very happy to be able to study at my dream school. During my studies and training at Foreign Trade University, I will try to become a more active, proactive and creative person. I am studying the standard program, so I can still take care of the tuition fee" - Van Anh happily said.

Currently, the female student has found a satisfactory room for herself and is mentally preparing to go to Hanoi to start her student life. Sharing about her future career orientation, Van Anh said:

"I realize that I am a strong, practical person who likes logic. That is why I chose to study economics. In the near future, I will try to practice and study well at university. If I have the opportunity, I will also work part-time to have more monthly expenses and accumulate practical knowledge for myself."
