According to the draft project, Quang Ngai province currently has a natural area of ​​over 5,100 km2 and a population of about 1.3 million people. There are 13 district-level administrative units and 170 commune-level administrative units. Implementing the direction of the Central Government on the arrangement, Quang Ngai has developed a project to reduce more than 67.6% of the current number of communes. The project will be publicly announced for voters' opinions on April 20.
