Previously, on the afternoon of September 24, Mr. Trinh Vo Danh (parent of Trinh Vinh Kh. (3B grade student at Quang Trung Primary School, Cu Mgar district) said that when Kh. came home from school and saw his mother, he burst into tears.

After the family asked, Kh. said he was beaten by Mr. M, his English teacher , while trying to stop two classmates from fighting.

Quang Trung Primary School, Cu M'gar District (Dak Lak) where the incident occurred (a teacher beat a 3rd grade student when he tried to stop his friend from fighting).

According to Mr. Danh, his son was assigned to be the class monitor. While trying to stop two classmates from fighting, he was beaten by the teacher. Seeing that his son was showing signs of fatigue and complaining of back pain, his family took him to the Cu M'gar District Medical Center for a health check.

After examination, the doctor diagnosed Kh. with soft tissue injuries, left shoulder and arm. Kh. is still scared every time he mentions teacher M.

“I sent my child back to school because there was no English class with Mr. M in the morning . The family also reported the incident to the school’s headmaster and principal. The family hopes that the authorities will soon verify and handle the matter according to regulations so that my child can study with peace of mind,” said Mr. Danh.

Speaking with Dan Viet reporter, Mr. Nguyen Tu Do, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Cu M'gar district, said that the unit had received information about the incident of a male teacher at Quang Trung Primary School beating a student and had directed the school to have a specific report.

“This morning, the department leaders went directly to the school and into the classroom to reassure and encourage the children. Now the children are in a stable state of mind and are attending school as usual,” said Mr. Nguyen Tu Do.

Mr. Nguyen Tu Do also informed that teacher M admitted his mistake in beating the student and hoped that Kh.'s family would forgive him so that he could learn from his mistakes. The school leaders, organizations, teachers and teacher Minh also went to Kh.'s house to apologize to him and his family.

The unit will coordinate to handle the incident according to regulations so that similar incidents do not occur.
