Social policy credit in Dak Lak is maintained stable

On August 22, a working delegation of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) led by Mr. Huynh Van Thuan, Deputy General Director of VBSP, worked with the Dak Lak Provincial Branch of VBSP on the results of policy credit activities in the province after restructuring administrative units and implementing the 2-level local government model.

Dak Lak province has a natural area of ​​18,096.4 km2, with 102 commune-level administrative units and 2,801 villages, hamlets and residential groups. The province's population is 3,346,853 people, of which the poverty rate is 5.08% and the near-poor rate is 5.4%.

Mr. Dao Thai Hoa, Director of the Dak Lak branch of the Social Policy Bank, said that after the arrangement, the commune's transaction activities continued to be maintained smoothly with 287 transaction points and a stable transaction schedule. The branch has advised the Provincial People's Committee to add an additional 35 billion VND of entrusted capital from the local budget through the Social Policy Bank to lend to poor households and other policy beneficiaries, raising the total capital entrusted from the local budget to 1,163.6 billion VND, an increase of nearly 247 billion VND compared to December 31, 2024, accounting for 8.38% of the total capital.

To date, outstanding policy credit in the province has reached more than 13,710 billion VND, an increase of 866 billion VND compared to the end of 2024, with 252,320 customers with outstanding loans. Credit quality has been improved. Entrustment activities through socio- political organizations continue to be well implemented with 6,223 Savings and Loan Groups, the total outstanding policy credit balance jointly managed by socio-political organizations is 13,675 billion VND; accounting for 99.75%.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy General Director of the VBSP Huynh Van Thuan acknowledged the achievements in social policy credit work in Dak Lak province. In the coming time, the VBSP provincial branch needs to implement preferential credit programs to ensure safety, efficiency, and timely response to the borrowing needs of poor households and other policy beneficiaries; continue to maintain a stable network of transaction points and improve the quality and efficiency of operations at transaction points; coordinate with political and social organizations to continue to strengthen the quality of entrusted activities after the merger; at the same time, strengthen inspection and supervision of Savings and Loan Groups and grassroots entrusted organizations.

On the same day, the delegation attended the transaction session in Ea Tul commune, worked with the People's Committee of the commune and the Transaction Office of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies Cu M'gar. The leaders of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies proposed that in the coming time, the Transaction Office of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies Cu M'gar focus on disbursing loans to complete 100% of the assigned outstanding loan plan targets; coordinate with the Police to ensure security and order at the transaction points; effectively implement the organization of activities at the commune transaction points; coordinate with local authorities and socio-political organizations entrusted to regularly review the loan needs of subjects in the area, continue to synchronously implement solutions to consolidate and improve credit quality in the communes.

He suggested that the Ea Tul commune government pay attention to ensuring transaction conditions and creating conditions for people to access capital; review subjects in need and eligible to borrow capital to work with the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies to lend to serve production and people's lives; work with associations and organizations to maintain a network of savings and loan groups in villages and hamlets to improve the effectiveness of policy credit work.
