Birmingham City FC has just announced the sacking of manager Wayne Rooney on January 2. This was a predicted decision by the team playing in the English First Division. Rooney led Birmingham City to replace his predecessor John Eustace since October.
Contrary to initial expectations, Rooney has caused many disappointments. The former Man Utd striker has only won 2/15 matches since taking up his new job. Birmingham has won 2, drawn 4 and lost 9 matches. From a team with a chance to win a ticket to the next season's promotion, Birmingham has dropped to 20th place in the rankings.

Birmingham chairman Tom Brady has faced a wave of criticism from the English football community and the club's fan base. Initially, Mr. Brady hoped that Rooney's reputation and his early success as a coach would help Birmingham gain promotion and regain their former glory. But the 38-year-old coach showed that he was still inexperienced.
But if we look at Wayne Rooney's journey on the coaching bench, it is not too surprising that the former Man Utd legend failed bitterly.
Rooney's bright spot is his enthusiasm and sense of responsibility rather than his expertise. When he was leading DC United in the US Major League, Rooney lost 26/52 matches and only won 13 matches. This team could not enter the championship race and performed poorly.
Rooney had previously managed Derby County and helped the club stay in the top flight in his first season. However, financial difficulties saw Derby County deducted points the following season. Rooney had to pay for many of the club's running costs out of his own pocket. Derby County played well but were still relegated.
Rooney is the greatest striker in Man Utd's history. He scored 253 goals during his time playing for Man Utd. He always received the love of the Red Devils fans with his dedication and silent sacrifice on and off the field.
