On April 26, the Department of Tourism of Quang Binh province confirmed that it had received a report from a unit specializing in cave tourism exploitation in Quang Ninh district about the discovery of a new cave with a fascinating stalactite system in Sat village, Truong Son commune, in this district.
Previously, through the survey process, this unit discovered a new cave in Sat village and named it Lu cave. After that, the unit created a project on community tourism combined with cave exploration and sent it to the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Tourism.
At the end of April 2024, the unit continued to coordinate with the Sat Village Community Forest Management Board to conduct the second survey of Lu Cave.
The survey determined that the cave is 2km long, the entrance is 8m high, 9m wide, has 4 branches with 100m of dry cave, the rest is wet cave.
Inside the cave, at the highest point about 35m, there is an underground river system. The cave is located about an hour from Ban Sat.
The special thing about Lu Cave is the stalactite system inside the cave. Accordingly, through the accumulation process, the cave has formed layers of stalactites like giant carpets connected together and bringing a captivating beauty.
To accurately assess the value of Lu Cave, relevant authorities of Quang Binh Province will set up a team to inspect it. After that, they can consider exploiting the value of this cave for tourism purposes.
Previously, another cave with magical beauty was discovered in Truong Son commune, Son Nu cave.
These two caves are several kilometers apart and are both considered landmark discoveries for the cave system of Quang Binh.
