Asia's leading travel magazine - DestinAsian has just announced the list of winners at the 18th Reader's Choice Awards (award voted by readers). This is an annual award organized by DestinAsian, to honor the best destinations, hotels, airlines and tourism services in the region, based on the votes of thousands of readers around the world. The evaluation is based on the quality of service, travel experience and especially the level of satisfaction of tourists with the destination.

In the Best Islands category, Phu Quoc is the only representative of Vietnam to be honored, ranking 5th in the list of 10 islands in Asia, up one place from 6th place in 2024. This shows the satisfaction of tourists when coming to Phu Quoc and the quality of services on the island has increased.

The fact that Phu Quoc continues to be in the "green eyes" of international media shows that the island's popularity has not decreased. Since 2023, the island has been continuously honored in the "best" lists of the region and the world from leading prestigious travel magazines. Typically, in 2024, Ngoc Island was voted the second most beautiful in the world by Travel + Leisure, after the famous Maldives, surpassing other famous names in the region such as Bali and Phuket.

It is not difficult to explain why Phu Quoc is becoming a rising star on the international tourism map. The Pearl Island attracts tourists thanks to its fine white sand beaches, clear blue water, especially its diverse flora and fauna ecosystem and colorful coral reefs. In particular, the South of the island is home to Bai Kem and Bai Sao, which are among the most beautiful beaches on the planet, with fine white sand like gelato and emerald green water, creating unforgettable experiences for visitors.

Not only that, in recent times, the Pearl Island has been continuously supplemented with new experiences to meet the diverse needs of tourists. Typically, the Sunset Town with a series of iconic tourism products such as the Kissing Bridge - the only unique non-touch bridge in the world, the Kiss of the Sea multimedia show on the largest sea screen stage in Asia, the unique Vui Phet night market by the sea in Vietnam, or the nightly fireworks display... In particular, one of the most iconic experiences is taking the world's longest 3-wire cable car to Hon Thom Island. This is also the experience chosen by DestinAsian to illustrate Phu Quoc when announcing the list of 10 most beautiful islands in Asia.

Also in the 18th Reader Choice Award, in the category of Best Vietnam Resorts, two resorts in Phu Quoc - JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort and New World Phu Quoc Resort were honored by DestinAsian.

Among them, JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort ranked first, and New World Phu Quoc ranked 10th. In addition to the titles favored by international media, Phu Quoc has also affirmed its status as an increasingly world-class destination when it was chosen to host the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum in 2027. This not only marks a positive signal for the strong boom of the Pearl Island tourism industry, but also represents an opportunity, potential and challenge to help Phu Quoc rise to become a leading tourism, economic and service center in the region.
