On the afternoon of August 19, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Trung Tinh - Principal of Can Tho University - said that according to the agreement of the family, the City Party Committee, the People's Council, the People's Committee of Can Tho City and Can Tho University, the funeral of Labor Hero, Professor Dr. Vo Tong Xuan will be held at the Can Tho City Funeral Home, No. 30A, Mau Than Street, An Nghiep Ward, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City.

According to Mr. Tinh, Professor Vo Tong Xuan contributed a lot to the school and the agricultural sector of the Mekong Delta and the whole country. The wishes of many generations of former students of Can Tho University suggested that the leaders of Can Tho University and his family bring the professor's coffin to Can Tho University for the convenience of generations of students and people of the Mekong Delta to remember the professor.

After discussion, Can Tho University leaders agreed to discuss with the family and the family representative of Professor Xuan also agreed.

However, in order to organize a proper funeral, the leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Can Tho City proposed to organize the funeral for the professor because he was a National Assembly delegate of Can Tho City for three consecutive terms: VII, VIII, and IX.

"It is expected that in the evening of the same day, the body of Professor Vo Tong Xuan will be brought from Ho Chi Minh City to the Can Tho City Funeral Home to hold the funeral and memorial service," Mr. Tinh added.

Professor Vo Tong Xuan passed away this morning.
