The Minister of Education and Training has just awarded a certificate of merit to Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Tam - a teacher at Thien Ho Duong High School, Dong Thap province - for her contributions to teaching, volunteering for students and the community over the past decades.
Mr. Ho Nhu Duyen - member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Education Trade Union, Deputy Director of the Southern Center for Education and Training Development - personally handed over the award to Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Tam in a solemn ceremony held at Thien Ho Duong High School, Dong Thap province, yesterday, April 14.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Tam is known as one of the typical examples of overcoming difficulties, wholeheartedly contributing to the cause of educating people and the social community, the founder of the "Nhat Tam" scholarship fund, and also a teacher who overcame adversity to excellently complete her teaching tasks.
In 2009, Ms. Minh Tam unfortunately had a serious accident, which severely affected her health and daily life. However, overcoming those adversities, Ms. Tam still completed her teaching duties excellently and continued to study, improving her teaching skills. She now has a master's degree in mathematics and a second degree in English.
Not only that, along with the teaching process, over the past 16 years, Ms. Tam has continuously spread the spirit of charity through volunteer activities.
She organizes charity meals for people in difficult circumstances, participates in community races, and founded the "Nhat Tam" scholarship fund. This scholarship fund has raised more than 7 billion VND to date, supporting hundreds of poor students to continue going to school, and helping many patients in difficult circumstances to receive treatment.
Furthermore, Ms. Tam is also one of the pioneers in registering for organ donation, demonstrating a deep responsibility to society and the community.
Sharing after receiving the certificate of merit, Ms. Tam was moved to thank the Ministry of Education and Training and the Vietnam Education Trade Union for recognizing her efforts and affirmed that she would constantly practice, strive, improve her teaching capacity, and foster professional expertise to continue to contribute to the education career.

Sharing at the ceremony, Mr. Ho Nhu Duyen said: "Ms. Tam's journey is a living testament to her strength, determination, love for her job and humanitarian spirit. She is a typical and advanced individual in the emulation movement to study and follow Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style that the entire education sector is launching."
The Ministry of Education and Training encourages educational institutions to continue to discover, honor and replicate shining examples like Ms. Tam, contributing to building a humane and positive educational environment and spreading good values in society.
