On the morning of June 26, Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee held a conference to announce the Politburo's decision on personnel work.
At the conference, the Central Organizing Committee announced the Politburo's decision on the transfer and appointment of Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, to join the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and hold the position of Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
On behalf of the Politburo, Mr. Luong Cuong, Standing member of the Central Party Secretariat, presented the decision and flowers to congratulate the new Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee.
Speaking at the ceremony, the new Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Gau expressed his gratitude to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Organizing Committee for their attention, trust, and introduction to him, and assigning him to the position of Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee - a province with a strategic position in Military Region 1 and the Northern Midlands and Mountains; a locality in a period of breakthrough, growth, and strong development.
He will seriously accept all the instructions and assignments from the Standing Secretariat and promise to be determined to properly and fully perform the assigned duties and tasks. The assigned tasks are a great honor, but also a heavy responsibility in the face of the trust and expectations of the Party and State leaders, the Party Committee, the government and the people of Bac Giang.
Mr. Nguyen Van Gau also shared that he had studied the documents of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term and clearly felt the determination and strong aspiration of the entire Party Committee when setting the goal of "building Bac Giang province to develop comprehensively and firmly, to be among the 15 provinces and cities with the leading economic scale in the country by 2025" (and in fact, by the end of 2023, Bac Giang province had completed this goal early, the province's economic scale had risen to 12th in the country).
He also studied Resolution No. 307 dated December 6, 2023 of the Provincial Party Executive Committee on leadership tasks in 2024, emphasizing the determination to basically complete the goals of the entire 2020-2025 term in 2024 to create a foundation for Bac Giang to enter a new development stage...
It is known that Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau (born September 16, 1967, hometown in Tan Thuy commune, Ba Tri district, Ben Tre province). He has a high level of political theory, a bachelor's degree in Social Sciences and Humanities.
Before 2019, he was a Colonel, Deputy Political Commissar, then Political Commissar of the 8th Infantry Division; Political Commissar of Military Region 9. In 2019, he was promoted to the rank of Major General. He was appointed Political Commissar of Military Region 9 in November 2020.
On January 30, 2021, at the 13th National Congress of the Party, he was elected as a member of the 13th Party Central Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
On January 27, 2022, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed a decision to appoint Major General Nguyen Van Gau, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Political Commissar of Military Region 9, to hold the position of Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army.
In January 2023, he was promoted to Lieutenant General, continued to serve as Political Commissar of Military Region 9, and held the position of Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army.
