Intercropping models, converting ineffective crop areas to high - value fruit trees such as mango, combining rice, vegetable and aquaculture cultivation have brought about clear results.

Many farmers in Tan Long commune have boldly approached technology, exploited the Internet to do business and consume agricultural products online; applied modern farming methods such as increasing mechanization, cost reduction methods, aiming at safety, organic and VietGAP standards. This not only helps improve product quality, but also opens up opportunities to access a wider market.
Thereby, many models of applying science and technology have been effectively implemented, typically: Project "Developing sustainable rice value chain" by RIKOLTO or "Developing organic agriculture" supported by Seed to Table.
In particular, the establishment and certification of the “Cu Lao Tay Mango” brand has affirmed the position and enhanced the value of the local key product. Currently, the whole commune has 39 growing areas with 101 codes, an area of 2,176 hectares; at the same time, there are 6 Cooperative Groups and 2 individuals certified with VietGAP.
In addition, agricultural cooperatives are operating more and more effectively, providing production support services. The Associations are maintained and play an active role, becoming a place to share experiences and knowledge, contributing to the sustainable development of the commune's key crops.
The “One Commune One Product” (OCOP) program has achieved success with 8 products achieving 3-star standards. More than 1,720 companies, businesses, establishments and business households are operating stably, creating jobs and income for local people.

The total capital mobilized for infrastructure development reached an impressive 260 billion VND, creating a new look for Cu Lao Tan Long. Important traffic works such as: An Phong - Tan Binh ferry expansion project, Tan Binh - Tan Long route have been completed and put into use, creating continuity and promoting the economic development of the commune.
IMPROVE QUALITY OF LIFE
Not only economic development, the cultural and social fields of Cu Lao Tan Long also have made great strides, contributing to improving the quality of life for the people. Cultural, artistic and sports activities are maintained regularly, attracting a large number of people to participate.
Information and propaganda work on the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws are carried out promptly and effectively. The building of families, hamlets and offices meeting cultural standards is focused on, with an annual rate of 95% of cultural households, contributing to preserving traditional values, solidarity and mutual love.
School facilities are invested in and built, the network of schools at all levels meets the needs of teaching and learning. The teaching staff meets standards, the rate of schools meeting national standards increases, maintaining the effectiveness of universal education.
Activities to encourage learning, encourage talents and build a learning society are maintained, creating a solid foundation for human development. The rate of people participating in health insurance reaches 98%, and health stations meet national standards. The application of electronic medical records has contributed to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, bringing convenience to people.
Local leaders pay special attention to policy beneficiaries, meritorious people, poor households and near-poor households. The total capital mobilized for social security work in the past term reached over 69 billion VND. Notably, the program "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" has built and repaired 85 houses, bringing warmth to disadvantaged families.
At the same time, vocational training and job creation have achieved many positive results. The rate of trained workers reached 79%, introducing new jobs to nearly 5,000 workers, of whom 208 went to work abroad under contracts. The annual poverty reduction rate met the target, by the end of 2024, the multidimensional poor households were only 3.37%.

To achieve the above achievements, the leadership role of the Tan Long Commune Party Committee is a key factor. Regarding the development orientation in the new term, comrade Tran Tien Thinh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan Long commune, shared: "The commune has completed the socio-economic development planning until 2030, with a vision to 2035, as a basis for socio-economic development in the period 2025 - 2030".
This vision includes maintaining and developing specialized vegetable, color, and fruit growing areas using high technology, linked to consumption. At the same time, the commune continues to build growing areas, product brands, and apply digital transformation to trace origins.

The strategic goal of Tan Long commune is to build and develop agriculture in the direction of “Ecological agriculture - Modern countryside - Civilized farmers”. To realize this goal, the commune will study mechanisms and policies to support farmers in accessing technical advances, linking in production, processing and consumption of products.
Solutions include developing high-tech agriculture, clean agriculture, and organic agriculture in concentrated production areas. At the same time, the commune continues to improve the investment and business environment to attract economic sectors, develop community tourism, eco-tourism, create jobs and increase income for people.
With the achievements and clear strategic vision, Tan Long Islet is facing a new promising development stage. This place is not only a land rich in resources, but also demonstrates the innovation, dynamism and determination of the Party, government and people in building a prosperous, happy and sustainable life. New vitality is spreading strongly and promisingly on the island land in the middle of Tien River.
