"Be more handsome. Score more goals and win the Asian Cup. Okay?", Son Heung Min replied on Instagram when asked by Tottenham teammate Pedro Porro about his goals for 2024.
At the 2023 Asian Cup finals taking place from January 12 to February 10 in Qatar, Son Heung Min will continue to wear the captain's armband for the Korean team, as he is the brightest star of the Kimchi team at the moment.
The striker born in 1992 is also the captain of Tottenham Club and has won 8 Asian Golden Balls.

In addition to Son Heung Min, coach Jurgen Klinsmann also called up players playing in Europe, notably Bayern Munich defender Kim Min Jae, Paris Saint Germain's 22-year-old attacking midfielder Lee Kang In, and Wolves striker Hwang Hee Chan.
Although highly rated, the Korean team has not won the Asian Cup since 1960. Therefore, coach Jurgen Klinsmann and his team are expected to lift the championship trophy at the 2023 Asian Cup.
Over the past 64 years, the Korean team has reached the Asian Cup final four times but failed each time. The most recent time at the 2019 Asian Cup, the Korean team stopped in the quarterfinals when they lost 0-1 to Qatar (the Qatar team later won the championship).
"Now it's just a matter of time and I think we're ready for this big, big competition. It's been 64 years, a long time for Korea. It's time for us to do this," coach Jurgen Klinsmann expressed his goal of helping Korea win the 2023 Asian Cup.
At the 2023 Asian Cup finals, the Korean team is in Group E with Malaysia, Jordan and Bahrain. According to the schedule, Son Heung Min and his teammates will play their opening match against Bahrain on January 15.
Son Heung Min's participation in the 2023 Asian Cup means Tottenham will be without the Korean striker for up to 6 matches, including the FA Cup away match against Burnley and the very important match against Man Utd.
