Speaking at the festival, a representative of the Ham Rong Eco-tourism Management Board said: The festival on Ham Rong Mountain is a practical activity in response to Sa Pa Tourism Week, and at the same time an opportunity to honor the unique cultural identity of ethnic groups and promote the image of Sa Pa to tourists. This is also a healthy playground, promoting the physical education and sports movement in the community.

At the festival, delegates and visitors enjoyed a special art program with performances imbued with the traditional cultural identity of ethnic minorities in Sa Pa such as Mong, Dao, Tay, Giay, and Xa Pho.

The highlight of the festival is the Ham Rong Mountain Climbing Competition, an exciting sport activity that attracts young people and tourists to participate. The route is nearly 2 km long, starting from the ethnic stilt houses and ending at Ham Rong Peak - 1,836 m above sea level. This is a journey that requires good physical strength and perseverance from the athletes.

Nearly 30 athletes, mainly local youth and some tourists, participated in the race. The competition took place in an exciting, safe and determined atmosphere.

At the end of the tournament, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to athlete Sung A Phu, the second prize to athlete Sung A Su and the third prize to athlete Lo A Dao - all three are locals. In addition, visitors can also participate in folk games such as crossbow shooting, goat catching, pot fighting, etc.
The festival at Ham Rong scenic spot not only brings a joyful and vibrant atmosphere during the holidays but also contributes to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of the ethnic groups in Sa Pa, while spreading the spirit of sports, improving community health and promoting the potential of local eco-tourism and culture.
