On the evening of April 21, at the Huong River Theater (Hue City, Thua Thien - Hue), the Vietnam Association of Architects coordinated with the University of Sciences, Hue University to organize the opening ceremony of the 14th National Architecture Student Festival, with the theme "Hue - Youth with Heritage".

The National Architecture Student Festival is a traditional activity held every two years, chaired by the Vietnam Association of Architects, in turn coordinating with the hosting units, which are universities training in architecture across the country.

The Festival is also an opportunity for students and lecturers from schools to exchange and discuss content related to architecture, heritage, planning, urban development, etc. through interesting professional activities.

The organizers said that this year, the program hopes to bring a large and useful playground for architecture students with exciting creative activities in the quick design, sketching, graphics, photography, installation competitions...

In addition, there are professional seminars and discussions with the participation of prestigious experts and architects; exchange activities, connections and field surveys of the architectural heritage system in the ancient capital of Hue.

Mr. Nguyen Thu Phong, Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Architects, said that the Vietnam Association of Architects always focuses on the training and development of generations of architects right from when they are students. The National Architecture Student Festival, held since 1998, has become a large-scale traditional event that architecture students look forward to the most.

The theme "Hue - Youth with Heritage" this time truly exploits the unique cultural, historical and architectural characteristics of the ancient capital, conveying not new issues but from the perspective of young people in the contemporary flow.

"We believe that the careful preparation of 26 domestic schools and 3 international schools will bring about creative and new entries and works inspired by Hue's heritage," said Mr. Phong.

On the same morning, within the framework of the program, at the University of Sciences, Hue University, the launching ceremony of the talent competition for students in the field of architecture took place.

The competition has 5 categories: quick design A, quick design B, architectural sketching, photography and graphic design.

The contests revolve around topics such as: Public utilities associated with heritage landscapes; Honoring Hue heritage landscapes; Beauty of Hue architectural heritage landscapes; Poetry of Hue...

The 14th National Architecture Student Festival will continue to take place at the University of Sciences, Hue University (77 Nguyen Hue, Hue City) and other locations in the ancient capital of Hue until April 24.
