Bridge collapse scene due to prolonged heavy rain

Previously, at around 5:00 p.m. on August 15, a serious incident occurred in Minh Thanh 5 neighborhood, Chon Thanh ward, when prolonged heavy rain caused the water level to rise, collapsing both sides of bridge pier No. 1 on Road No. 40 - the main traffic route connecting Chon Thanh ward with Minh Hung ward.

With a 4m wide and 6m long bridge deck, the bridge is now severely damaged and completely impassable. If the weather continues to deteriorate, the entire bridge is at risk of being washed away, causing serious traffic disruption and posing a potential safety risk to local residents.

Faced with the above situation, the People's Committee of Chon Thanh Ward urgently mobilized police and military forces to set up barriers and checkpoints at both ends of the bridge, prohibiting people and vehicles from passing through to ensure safety. At the same time, it recommended that the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Construction promptly survey the current situation and deploy emergency solutions.
